594 I was born June 17th, 1942. I was nearly 15 when Lawrence sold out of farming and moved the family to Colorado. I graduated from Aurora High School in 1960 and then attended the University of Colorado on a part time basis at the newly created Denver Extension Center. Work related activities took me to Chicago in the summer of 1965 or '66. At the end of 1968, I left the company that I moved to Chicago to work for and arranged to attend the Evening Division of Northwestern University, transferring credits from the University of Colorado. I attended on a full time basis, taking as many as the equivalence of 21 semester hours in Business Administration. When I finished, mid-year, I sought employment in the Chicago area but wound up accepting a position as a territory manager in San Francisco for a competitive company to the one I had left to return to school. Then, I late 1969, I was asked by the first company to accept a position in Syracuse, NY and after less than a year in San Francisco, I moved to Syracuse, NY. During the year in San Francisco, I married a girl that I have met in Chicago and brought her to San Francisco. We were married on May 25th, 1969. Our children, Melody Rose, August 17, 1970 and Michelle Elaine, July 21, 1971 were born in Syracuse, New York. After 3 years of struggle with life and work in Syracuse, I was attracted to move to Florida by a high school classmate, a pilot for TWA. We met in New York City for a couple days of reacquaintence and I decided to move to Florida instead of a return to Aurora, Colorado. I had already decided to leave Syracuse, irregardless.

Florida has been good, I guess, because I have been here since May of 1973. Julie and I divorced the following year. She still lives in the area and is frequently invited for holiday dinners. While here, I have had employment managing McDonald's restaurants, managed circulation districts for the Saint Petersburg Times with other jobs in between on some occasions. For the past 20 years, I have been involved in personal computers in some manner, the last 12 as an independent PC Consultant selling, building, installing, training, servicing and generally supporting any and all Personal Computing related activities for a range of clients that varies and changes.

On June 9, 1969, I married Ann Jaar who originated from Estonia as a child. It was a second marriage for each of us and she had two children, aged about 13 and 15 respectively. Ann died in an automobile accident on March 26th, 1983. Her children are in the area but our contact discontinued after Ann' death. I believe that her youngest daughter has three children, the eldest is about 16. The two daughters, Louisa Mae Jaar had never married and the second daughter, Karen Jaar, married Chris Nightingale in 1984.

Having known Marilyn before I married Ann, a mutual friend put us together again following Ann's death as Marilyn's husband had left her and I was without a mate. Marilyn has two children from a first marriage, Renee' Theresa Yezek and Michelle-Ann Yezek. Renee' was born at the time Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, July 20, 1969. Michelle was born March 5, 1967. From her second marriage, Marilyn has two children, Rolando Antonio Escamilla, March 25, 1975 and Kendra Leticia Escamilla, November 30, 1978. Each are married and have sons. Marilyn and I have no children of our own. We do have 9 grandchildren amongst the 6 children. All live in the area except my second daughter, Michelle who is married to an Air Force Officer, Lt. Douglas McDaniel and currently (2001) stationed at Nellis Air Force Base.

Warren Keffer was born August 8 1924 and Marilyn Norma Keffer born May 24, 1926

My dad was an auto machine and worked for many years at Hilton Electric. When the war (# 2) started Hiltons shut down their auto repair. For a couple years he worked in building construction (building barracks and etc. at Military bases. Near the end of the war he went to work for Davis Childs Chevrolet in Hutchinson. He was primarily a mech. in there used car department. When they needed a driver to pick up or deliver parts he would drive for them. They lived in Hutchinson on west 14th St. Shortly after I came home from the Navy He sold the place on 14th and bought the place at Sylvia, KS.

I was in the Navy for 3 years 10 months and 23 days and came home after W W 2 was over. While home on leave I met June. We wrote many letters for a period of time and was finally Discharged on January 14, 1946. When I got home June and I were married. Your twin sisters were a little over a year old when we wed. I tried to go to school when I got home. First I had to finish High School, which was a pud, they made it easy for Veterans, I found that I did not know how to study and so 1 semester at Sterling College was as far as I got
after that. I came home and went looking for a job. June was in a family way then and we needed a place to live. I was hired by South Western Bell Telephone Co. as a Station Installer. I installed phones for a couple
years and was involved in a car accident. I was lucky they kept me and put me in Construction. (where pole climbing was the primary work), or at the top of the pole was the work. We had job bidding and I bid back into
Maintenance where I remained until 4 years before I retired I went inside the office as a Test Desk Tech. I tested defective cables and dispatched repairmen to repair the problem cables. I retired with clear service. I
have had it good. I never missed the work , just the people.

I am now very much involved with Free Masonry. There are several pages of the places I have been and things I am involved with.

June and I had four (4) sons. Roger, Gregory Clark and Jonathin. Roger died 9 years ago but the others are still kicking around. Greg. has three (3) daughters and one (1) grand daughter. There will be another in February or March. Clark has a daughter (who live in Seattle and goes to college in N.Y. Jon has never
gotten married. He is in management with Sprint in KC. I do not know what he does. He has his own house and car. He goes skiing several times each year. He runs every day and has several and rides bicycles all over the
country. He doesn't have time to get married. Greg works for William's Telephone Co. Clark spends his time helping the homeless people in Lawrence. He manages a couple places that serve meal to the homeless.
You mentioned the Quonset hut. June and I rented it with Mom & Dad after he sold his house and before they moved out to Sylvia, You asked about Marilyn's kids. I do not know much about them There are two (2) girls
both live in California, Steve lives some where in KC. he isn't very hospitable. When Marilyn was here a couple years ago I took her to his house and he did not want company. Marilyn stayed a couple days and we went back an brought her here where she stayed until time to go back home. I do not know about him.

I was in the Philippines when the twins were born. Mom sent me a letter announcing their arrival. Mom and dad had a home on west 14th St. Hutchinson, that place had a front porch that wrapped around part of the
West side. and they sold it to buy the place at Sylvia. When they sold that they went to Ness to your folks place until they moved to California. When they came back they bought a house in Carey Ville, at Hutchinson. They traded that place for a smaller one on East 5th. They lived there until they died. Dad went first and Mom went to your mothers until she passed away. She is buried at Rayles Hill West of Hutchinson by dad. June and I have lots there and Roger is buried there also.

Stephen Wilson and his second wife have their own computer business ( I believe it is writing programs) and some of his six children from his first marriage work for them. I don't know much more. He has a son from
his second marriage. They live in Lees Summitt, MO. He is certainly made from different cloth.

Marilyn's youngest daughter, Sharilyn is close to her mother , visits often with her two small children. I believe she works as a paralegal in a lawyers office. She is a lovely and loving person. Marilyns other daughter,Kathy had a stormy first marriage and one daughter, who is now grown. She has married an older man a couple of years ago and is apparently settled now. Marilyn is married for the third time. I like her new husband but he is very ill so it doesn't look to promising.

Of course, Greg is the only one of our kids married. Clark and Jon are seemingly happy to be single.
