    • PROVIDED BY NARRATIVE OF CHARLES BARND(T)

Elijah was Auditor for two terms

Elijah was an appraiser, a dry goods merchant, and a bookkeeper. He also worked for an editor at some point. He was the county's Recorder/Clerk from 1857-1858. He founded the Barnd Lime Kilns south of the village in 1871. Over 20,000 bushels of lime burned annually in the kilns which employed 5 to 7 men. This was the major industry in the town. Lime Street took its name from the Barnd quarry. He lived in Findlay for over 50 years.
