      Arrived Oranienbaum (near St. Petersberg), Russia 31 Jul 1766 by the ship under the command of Kuen according to the J. Kulberg record list of 1766 researched by Dr. Igor Pleve. Traveled southwest to Samara Province (The Russians spit that Province in 1797 and formed Saratov Province) arriving there 15 Aug 1767. Saratov in the Mongol/Tatar language means "Yellow Mountain".

      The Norka 1798 Russian census lists the family as follows: Family Group 038; Jakob Weitzel, age 64. Wife Margalina Alt, age 31. Son: Johann Heinrich, age 21. Son: Nikolaus, age 2.
