He always insisted that the family name Margheim was not spelled correctly, and should be spelled Morgheim. Various members of the family agreed with him and use the spelling "Morgheim". This spelling variation was finally cleared up at the Margheim Family Reunion, August 8, 1999 at Lyman, Scottsbluff County, Nebraska. Johannes Margheim, Schiller Str 4, 74736 Hardheim, Odenwald, Germany, who was born June 15, 1931, Merkel, Saratov Province, Russia, informed the attendees of the reunion that the correct German spelling was "Margheim". He stated that all of the family bibles, and village records indicated Margheim (Dr. Igor Pleve found records and documents that also agree with this fact). He stated that "Morgheim" was the Russian way of spelling the Family name.
Ed Ring, 824 12th Street, Greeley, Colorado, indicates that Wilhelm "got his step sister pregnant" in Merkel, Russia just before he left for the USA. Ed Ring also states that Wilhelm is buried in Evans, Weld County, Colorado, and that Wilhelm introduced his mother Maria (Mary) Kurtz to his father Alex Ring. The Ring family lived in Lyman and Morrill, Nebraska, and finally Torrington, Wyoming.
